 MENEHUNE teaches your beginning students the first two steps of piano playing readiness:

• mastery of rhythm counting and
• keyboard geography without using fingering numbers..
• (The 3rd step is Staff-note Reading which we introduce in Level 1, Primer Level.)

Students sing and play out loud as a group from the first lesson like a piano orchestra.   This is excellent ear training, and playing with other musicians is not difficult for these students:

• Orchestrated accompaniments are available on SMF floppy disk or CD.
• The accompaniments for this book and the EZ Keys Series are also combined on one USB Flash Drive.

The students learn the location of all of the white keyboard keys in relation to the black keys, not just a few keys around middle C.  In addition, they even learn several sharps and flats!  Dynamics and legato playing are introduced.  Beautifully illustrated theory FUN SHEETS (Theory Lessons) complement each lesson.

Your students learn to play and count correctly two-eighths, quarter, half, dotted-half, and whole notes as they sing along with original compositions.
